Dear Salt Creek Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Salt Creek Elementary! I am thrilled to begin another year together, my sixth as principal at Salt Creek. It continues to be an honor to serve this warm, welcoming, and dedicated community. Whether you’re returning to Salt Creek or joining us for the first time, we’re so glad to have you as part of our school community.
This year, our school community is coming together around a powerful and inspiring theme: “Be the One.” At its core, this theme encourages each of us—students, staff, and families—to recognize the impact one person can make through simple, everyday actions.
Throughout the year, we will explore different focus areas that build on this message, such as:
- Be the Kind One – encouraging empathy, inclusion, and compassion
- Be the Helpful One – promoting teamwork, responsibility, and initiative
- Be the Brave One – celebrating courage, perseverance, and trying new things
- Be the Respectful One – fostering positive relationships and appreciation for others
Each version of the theme helps guide our school culture, social-emotional learning, and character development. We want students to see that they don’t have to wait for others to lead, speak up, or lend a hand—they can “Be the One” to make a difference, no matter how big or small the moment. We’re excited to partner with families in reinforcing these values at home and celebrating the many ways our students step up and shine throughout the year!
At Salt Creek, we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. Our amazing staff work hard to nurture both academic growth and social-emotional development, ensuring each student feels seen, heard, and valued.
We also know that education is strongest when it’s a team effort. The partnership between home and school is essential, and we’re grateful for the collaboration and trust our families bring.
I’m eager to get to know all of our students and families and to grow those connections as the year unfolds. I’m confident this school year will bring new opportunities, meaningful experiences, and shared successes. I look forward to seeing you throughout the year and working together to make it a truly memorable one!
Sincerely,
Sarah Rodriguez
