CCSD59 is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Michael Wall as the new principal of Forest View Elementary for the 2019-20 school year.
Mr. Wall has been an educator for nine years, serving eight of those as a teacher and administrator in CCSD59. He has worked as an assistant principal at Forest View since the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. Prior to that role, he was an instructional coach at Admiral Byrd and Clearmont for the 2016-17 year and again at Devonshire during the 2017-18 year. Mr. Wall completed his undergraduate education at Southern Illinois University and has earned two master’s degrees: a Master’s of Elementary Education from the University of Illinois-Chicago (2010) and Master’s of Educational Leadership from Concordia University-Chicago in 2016.
“I am so excited to be selected for this role,” Wall said. “When you hear the amount of input from (Forest View), to have their faith and trust to be the leader moving forward is an honor and pleasure. I am looking forward to continuing to serve the district, children, families, and teachers.”
“Meg Weickert has served as principal for 18 years and left a legacy. Being able to learn and work with her has been the highlight of my career in education so far.”
His first assignment as Forest View principal begins on July 1, 2019.
