Letter from the PrincipalLetter from the Principal(es)

NicoleWebDear Salt Creek Families,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!

I am thrilled to join the Salt Creek Family as principal this year, and I look forward to forming long-lasting partnerships with staff, students, and families. I began my teaching career in Bensenville School District 2 seventeen years ago, where I was a middle school language arts teacher, school counselor, and assistant principal at Blackhawk Middle School. In 2010, I became the principal of Chippewa Elementary School, later renamed Tioga Elementary School, where I proudly served for seven years. In December 2016, I earned my doctorate in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. On a more personal note, I have been married to my husband, who is an 8th grade teacher, for 14 wonderful years. We live in Des Plaines with our son and daughter. As the mother of school-aged children, I know how important it is for families to have open communication with teachers and administrators at the school in order to support student success.

Mrs. Griselda Tapia, Assistant Principal, and I are proud to join a school that offers such wonderful educational experiences for students. Our staff strive every day at Salt Creek to fulfill the CCSD59 mission to “Prepare Students to Be Successful for Life.” Our talented teachers provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful learning experiences that nurture their curiosity and value their unique interests, skills, and needs. The Salt Creek staff is dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment for students that will allow them to grow and develop as learners for life. We are committed to inspiring all students to become effective collaborators, problem solvers, and critical thinkers.

It is an honor and privilege to serve the Salt Creek School community. I look forward to collaborating with all families and community members to ensure each student has a positive and successful school year. Please feel free to contact me at 847-593-4375 or by email at [email protected]

Sincerely,

Dr. Nicole Robinson, Principal
